A PowerPoint background is an image file, usually a JPEG (.jpg) that you insert on the background of your slides (choose Format>Background), on the slide master, or directly on a slide. |

A PowerPoint template is a POT file (.pot) that includes a background, font specifications, images (such as a logo), and perhaps some text. To use a template, choose File>New and choose a template from the list. |

A slide set is a group of prototype slides that you can use over and over for maximum ease, flexibility, and consistency. Examples:

To download a free PowerPoint background, click the background. When you see the large image, right-click and choose Save Picture As or Save Target As. You can then save it on your computer. If you're on a Mac, Ctrl-click and choose Download Image to Disk. If there are 2 related images, they are probably one zipped file; in this case, click either image, and the Download dialog box will open automatically.
