My co-author and I are writing a new book, PowerPoint For Teachers! It's due to be published by Jossey-Bass (an imprint of Wiley) by next June, in time for the 2007/2008 school year. My co-author, Pavel Samsonov, PhD, has four years experience teaching PowerPoint to school students (1997-2001) and five years experience teaching it to future teachers (2001 to present). PowerPoint is one of the major components of the Instructional Resources in Education class that he has taught to undergraduate students and in-service teachers. In the process, he has amassed a considerable amount of useful PowerPoint material and projects. Currently, he is Assistant Professor at Department of Curriculum and Instruction, College of Education, University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He teaches both graduate and undergraduate classes in the field of educational technology. More information about him. More information about me. PowerPoint For Teachers will include the following:
You can help!Currently, we are interested in collecting high-quality PowerPoint presentations that teachers have created for their students. We'll look at any type of presentation, but our emphasis is on interactive projects that use hyperlinks and other techniques to respond to student choices. Examples are:
Do you have any great resources that we can include for our readers (other teachers)? In all cases, please tell us the grade level you were teaching when you used the presentation. Get a free copy of the book!If we use a presentation that you submit, either by featuring them in the book or including them on the companion Web site, we'll send you a free copy of the book when it's published. (We'll delete any that we don't use.) The publisher will require that you sign an agreement, stating that the content is completely yours and that you give us permission to use it. Note: We can't use presentations that contain any copyrighted material, such as copyrighted images, songs, music, and so on. We're looking for presentations that are tastefully designed and use good educational principles. |
