I recently gave a presentation to the local Chamber of Commerce called, “How to Ace Presentations.” (I didn’t choose the title.)
One of the topics I included was a discussion of a simple persuasion method:

One of the techniques that Carmen Taran mentioned in her Outstanding Presentations Workshop 2011 presentation, that can help you create more authentic slides, is to hand-sketch a diagram or image on a piece of paper, scan it, and add it as an image to a presentation.
Here’s an example:

I just finished meeting with a client and she had a presentation with lots of great photos of children. In PowerPoint 2007/2010, there’s an easy way to make these photos look great on a slide.
Here’s an example.
Follow these steps:

One of the new features of PowerPoint 2010 is the ability to remove the background of an image. This is different from making one color in the background transparent, which you can do in earlier versions. (I describe that process in a tip, “Cool contour shadows.”)
PowerPoint 2010 lets you specify which parts of [...]
PowerPoint 2007′s shadows are so much better than 2003′s. In this video lesson, I show you how to use all the settings.
And it’s a contest with free prizes! Listen to the video!
Do you prefer video lessons to text lessons? Sometimes, one if more appropriate than the other [...]
If you don’t know or have other graphics software, you can use PowerPoint — and many people do. It’s not high end, but if your needs are simple, the fact that you know and have it is a great plus.
