Ever want to work faster in PowerPoint? Of course you do! Geetesh’s new 44-page e-book, PowerPoint Keyboard Shortcuts, is the most complete collection of shortcuts I’ve seen for PowerPoint 2003, 2007, and 2010.
I recommend printing out the pages that cover your version and keeping them handy until using them becomes a habit. Here are a few of my favorites for PowerPoint 2007 and 2010:
- Ungroup: Ctrl + Shift + G. Many people know that they can press Ctrl + G to group objects, but fewer people know this shortcut. It’s so much faster than using the shortcut (right-click) menu!
- Paste Special: Ctrl + Alt + V. Again, this is much faster than choosing from the ribbon. Any time you want more control over the pasting process, paste special is your friend.
- Nudge selected objects: Ctrl + one of the arrows. Most people know that they can move a selecfted object with the arrow keys, but sometimes the arrow moves the object too much. Try adding the Ctrl key and you’ll have more control! <grin>
- Copy and paste object attributes: Ctrl + Shift + C and Ctrl + Shift + V. This is like the Format Painter, but quicker and easier to use. Insert two shapes with different colors, select one, and copy the object attributes using Ctrl + Shift + C. Select the second object and and use Ctrl + Shift + V. You’ll love it!
The e-book contains many, many more shortcuts that will save you time.
