I just taught this very message at the Sun Prairie Public Library beginner PowerPoint class. Some people were mad that I didn't have them do a little PP but I needed the time to teach them what a good PP was and a couple a tricks to shorten the learning curve then say g'bye. Excellent way to put science into practice. Thanks.

So I will take your suggestion one further: Not only will we not display slides full of text while speaking, we will also limit people's ability to text/phone/email/surf the web, while driving a moving car!

Brilliant post though. I wish I had a dime for every time I was in some breakout session with text heavy slides and a jabbering speaker. I wanted to scream "READ OR LISTEN! CHOOSE ONE!"
