SlideShare is the biggest slide-sharing site and you may have posted presentations there. I have a few myself.
You can display your SlideShare presentations on your Facebook profile. If you also have a Facebook page for your business, you can display these presentations on your page as well. Here you can see how they look on my Ellen Finkelstein on Presenting page. While you’re at it, why not go there and Like my page? It’s a great place to ask me questions and get answers! Click the SlideShare link on the left to see the presentations.

I discovered this feature from a new book, Facebook Marketing All-in-One For Dummies, by Amy Porterfield, Phyllis Khare, and Andrea Vahl. If you use Facebook for your business, the book is amazingly complete, at over 600 pages. But it’s well-organized into 9 “books,” so you can find just what you need.
I encourage you to go to Phyllis Khare’s website, www.phylliskhare.com, to download a free chapter of the book.
Unfortunately, getting the SlideShare app, as it’s called, on your page involves many steps, most of which are not obvious. Worse, each time Facebook makes changes to its interface, which is often, the steps change. Still, here’s my best shot. These steps assume that you already have a SlideShare account and at least one presentation uploaded there.
Go to your personal Facebook profile page, making sure you’re logged in under your personal profile. (It’s possible to log in under your page, but you don’t want that right now.) This is just to make sure you’re logged in.
Go to http://apps.facebook.com/slideshare. The Request for Permission page appears. Click Allow.
Click the Sync SlideShare.net Account link at the upper right. You should see your presentations. Now, if you go to your personal
profile page and click the SlideShare link under Apps (on the left), you should see SlideShare. Click the My Slidespace tab to see your presentations. I don’t like the fact that the default tab is Popular, which displays other people’s presentations, but I don’t see any way around that.
Now that SlideShare is added to your profile, go to http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=2490221586. This page lets you add the app to your Facebook page, if you have one.
Click the Add to My Page link, shown with the red arrow in the screenshot to the right.
You’ll see a list of your pages. Click Add to Page next to the page you want and click Close.
Now go to that Facebook page, click the down arrow to the right of the Home link at the upper-right corner, and choose Use Facebook as Page.
Next to the page you want, click Switch.
On your Facebook page wall, click the Edit Page button at the upper right.
Click the Apps link in the left menu. You’ll see a list of the apps you’ve added. Just below the SlideShare app, shown below, click Go to App.
A message tells you that you have to switch to using Facebook as yourself. (I know, it’s confusing!) Click Continue.
Click Yes and you’re done!
Now go to your page and click the SlideShare link on the left to see your presentations!

Thanks for the instructions, Ellen. I followed them exactly and now have a Slideshare tab on my page, but no slide shows are actually showing up. Any idea what my next step might be?
Lisa,
I’m assuming that you have presentations on SlideShare? If I go to slideshare.net, click my user name at the upper right, and choose my Uploads from the drop-down list, I see the 4 presentations that I’ve uploaded. Those are the ones that appear on my tab.
Oops, I missed your reply. Yes, I have quite a few presentations on Slideshare.
There must have been a glitch when I set this all up, because they’re now showing up on my FB tab.
Lisa,
Yes, glitches happen! As you can tell by all those steps, there are a lot of components and any one of them can go wrong. Glad it’s working now!
Dear Ellen,
THe links provided by you, especially http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=2490221586
looks to be outdated. Could you kindly update this page?
I am not being able to link my slideshare account to one of my page.
After I originally commented I appear to have clicked the
-Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox
and now every time a comment is added I receive 4 emails with the same comment.
Is there an easy method you can remove me from that service?
Thanks!
Sorry about that! I can’t find an easy way. Can you uncheck the checkbox on one of your comments? Or on a new comment? I left a question about this at the site of the developer who created this feature, but I’m not sure I’ll get an answer.
It works! Thank you!!
Hey there! This is my first visit to your blog! We are a collection of volunteers and starting a new project in a community in the same niche.
Your blog provided us beneficial information to work on.
You have done a extraordinary job!
Hey I know this is off topic but I was wondering if you knew of any widgets I could add to
my blog that automatically tweet my newest twitter updates.
I’ve been looking for a plug-in like this for quite some time and was hoping maybe you would have some experience with something like this. Please let me know if you run into anything. I truly enjoy reading your blog and I look forward to your new updates.
After I initially left a comment I appear to have clicked on the -Notify me when new
comments are added- checkbox and from now on each time a comment is added I get four emails with
the same comment. There has to be an easy method you can remove me from that service?
Kudos!
fascinating graphic.
Heya, I have considered purchasing the application DubTurbo Beatmaker and was hoping anybody could give me an actual genuine assessment of the software program. Almost all the sites that provide assessments are generally affiliate sites advertising the computer software therefore i don’t believe that the comments are honest. Cheers in advance for any information any individual can offer.
