Targus wireless remote
I use this inexpensive remote because it’s very simple. It’s small so your audience will hardly notice it and it fits easily in the palm of your hand. You just plug the USB adapter into your laptop and it works. Click the right button to go to the next slide. Click the left button to go backward. Click the bottom button to black out and re-view a slide. It’s that easy.
It does have some minor disadvantages:
- The On/Off switch on the right side is very hard to see. I lent it to my husband; he and a computer-savvy colleague thought it was broken because they couldn’t find the switch!
- The top button is supposed to allow you to switch to other applications. I haven’t figured out how to control it well enough to use it.
- The buttons make a slight clicking sound; I’d prefer them to be silent

I also use a Targus. A dab of white correction fluid makes the on/off slide switch easier to see, but I still always carry spare batteries in case I leave it on accidentally.

What a great idea! I’ve just painted some Liquid Painter on the on/off switch per your suggestion. And extra batteries are always a good idea!

I have used an “interlink” for the past 2 years…could you tell me if this product is a little smaller…thanks
I can’t find the size of the Interlink. The Targus is 1-1/2″ wide at its widest point x 3-1/2″ long x 3/4″ thick.

Thanks for your review. I recently purchased a Targus wireless presenter with laser pointer and they are great. It beats having to push the forward and back button on your laptop while trying to deliver your presentation! They’re so easy to use and the laser pointer is really handy for highlighting what you’re talking about.
