Jim Endicott of Distinction Communications does a survey each year that is widely followed. Last year’s survey showed the following:
• 54.4% of those presenting high stakes messages practice an hour or more
• 41.6% of presenters are frustrated with all aspects of creating & delivering
• 63.3% think their managers model good presentation skills
• 60% believe their presentations are pretty lame
• 69.2% receive little/no constructive feedback on their presentation skills
• 56.1% believe they’re “average” (or worse) presenters
• 86.1% say solid presentation skills affect career & income
I’d like to see the results of this survey.
