Why Internet marketing is green

Locally (Fairfield, Iowa), I help people with Internet marketing. Along with two colleagues, I recently held a free “Marketing Makeover Session” during which we went over the basic structures:

• blog/website
• Facebook
• Twitter
• YouTube
• LinkedIn
• social commenting and bookmarking
• email marketing

all guided by SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and SMO (Social Media Optimization).

After that, we pulled people’s names from a bowl, asked a few questions about their business, and offered on-the-spot marketing makeovers for them. It was a lively session!

I worked with two great experts. Phyllis Khare specializes in social media marketing. She consults with a number of businesses to help them add social media to their marketing mix. She very dynamic. Her tag line is Technology Cheerleader. I heard her speak at the local University recently and she had the students riveted. Lee Leffler (the newsletter gal) is an e-mail marketing specialist. She helps businesses create e-mail campaigns that work. (When I talk about Internet marketing, I’m the e-product maven!)
